Reviews and Ratings
I was pleasantly surprised by the unique character of this old building, with its quirky slanted door frames and uneven floors. The rooms had everything I needed, including a generous supply of tea and coffee. The wooden beams and exposed wattle and daub walls added a charming touch. However, some maintenance issues such as missing parts in the sink and a tricky shower temperature control were noticeable.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of pros and cons. The room I had was at the top of the house, with a wonderful high ceiling and a big comfortable bed, everything crisp and spotless. However, there was noise from the Wine/Beer Garden which affected my sleep. The location was great, in the center of Llangollen with shops, restaurants, and local tourist attractions within walking distance. The service was excellent, especially the receptionist who went above and beyond to help us. The dining experience was basic, consisted of white and brown bread, crumpets, and a do-it-yourself toaster, and took place in the adjacent wine bar. Overall, a comfortable stay with some room for improvement.
The hotel had a lovely character with extra large rooms furnished with beautiful antiques. The room, although a bit dated, provided all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The location was exceptional for exploring the town and nearby attractions, but the dining experience, while good, was a little pricey. The service was friendly and helpful, adding to the overall pleasant stay.
